I always receive questions about visiting Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, especially in the days following blog posts about what we pack and where we stay. I was searching for a family who had made a unique inquiry about visiting Disney on the cheap just last week when it occurred to me that my own brother and his family have yet to visit the Magic Kingdom. Immediately I was on a quest to find a package (of which there are literally HUNDREDS) where I could check off all of the items I would expect for myself on one of my many trips to the parks. But Disney on the cheap I assumed would have led me in the direction of packages that, while affordable, would be short in duration or perhaps not include a Disney Dining Plan, which is the most important element of visiting the Parks I refuse to do without.
The package I outline here is special, but not - Disney proudly advertises this utterly fantastic deal right on their website. No digging. No trying to piece one package with only "parts of another" to squeeze a better scenario out of a stay. And this package is a sweet 6 night, 7 day stay at a Disney property resort with a dining plan, and park tickets to all four parks for under $4,000. Yes, you just read that correctly. The catch? Well, only two catches, if you can even call them 'catches.' The travel dates are restricted but are plenty ample, and what and who Disney deems a family of four is also defined. The family for this deal is 2 adults, one junior and one child, although when I spoke with a cast member prior to writing this post, it was explained that anybody under the age of 18 staying at a Disney Resort property is considered a child. Ticketing and food are built into this package deal as 'child pricing' which is great! Prices are of course, always subject to change, however this incentive has been around for a while, and pricing has been advertised into 2020.
The Details That Make This Disney Vacation So Fantastic
With select standard rooms at each of these Disney Resort properties, you can park the car upon arrival and not have to move it until you are officially ready to leave. Walt Disney World Resort will provide bus transportation to and from the parks including Animal Kingdom, with the monorail moving folks between Epcot and Magic Kingdom. The new Disney Skyliner Gondolas at Walt Disney World will also be up and running as of fall 2019 and will transport folks between Disney's Art of Animation Resort*, Disney's Pop Century Resort*, Epcot and Hollywood Studios. The Disney Skyliner Gondolas make staying as a guest at either Disney's Art of Animation Resort or Disney's Pop Century Resort a real game changer in terms of fast, unique, and less crowded ways to move about the Disney property. In addition, the rooms offered at Disney's Pop Century Resort are very similar to those fantastically updated Euro-style rooms offered at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, a hotel in which I and my family have stayed with and commented time and time again how enjoyable we found it to be.
Disney’s All-Star Music Resort, where the rhythm will move you at this Resort hotel that pays homage to some of the world’s most popular music genres, including country, jazz, rock ‘n’ roll, calypso and Broadway-style show tunes.
Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort, an entirely enchanting Resort that celebrates the magic of the movies, and where a happy ending to your day is best enjoyed with movies under the stars.
Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort where Disney salutes the world of competitive sports, including baseball, basketball, football, surfing and tennis.
*Disney's Pop Century Resort where you'll experience the unforgettable fads of the 1950s through the 1990s all over again. From yo-yos and Play-Doh® to Rubik's Cube® and rollerblades, this Resort hotel salutes the timeless fashions, catch phrases, toys and dances that captivated the world through the decades.
*Disney's Art of Animation Resort is an opportunity to discover the Resort hotel that's a story in itself, celebrating the enchanting artistry of Disney and Disney•Pixar favorites.
I always advocate purchasing one of the Disney Dining Plans when visiting the Walt Disney World Resort. Fortunately, the fantastic folks at Disney were definitely thinking when they included the Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan with this great deal. As described on Disney's site, 'delight in an on-the-go meal plan that’s quick and simple. You’ll dine at Quick-Service locations that are a great place to stop and enjoy a casual meal. When it’s time to grab a bite to eat—just order at a counter or register and then find a seat. No need to make dining reservations. Guests have several new beverage options available, including non-alcoholic specialty beverages and, for Guests 21 and older, beer, wine and cocktails.'
Is this enough food? With each person entitled to two quick service meals as well as two snacks per overnight stay (that's 12 meals and 12 snacks per person!), the answer is a resounding YES once you see what is considered a snack. On our last visit to Epcot during the International Food and Wine Festival, the snacks we sampled were colossal. Below are just a few pics I snapped of JUST SNACKS, and given the portion sizes, two snacks is in some cases the equivalent of two additional meals. On our last trip, we stayed at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, Jambo House. A Quick-Service breakfast there held me until 2 or 3 o'clock each day, consisting of heavy portions of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, croissants, Mickey Waffles, breakfast potatoes, and fruit. It was obscene. Meals and snacks may be used whenever you'd like throughout your stay, meaning if you miss a snack one day, you can use it the next.
Theme Park Entrance Tickets
Tickets and Magic Bands for four are included in this package. The tickets are valid at all four theme parks. The Magic Bands will allow you to have your Quick-Service Dining plans pre-loaded, per person, per Magic Band, and also to book your Fast Passes before you get to the Park. This ensures you will not have to wait in the lengthy lines for rides like Soarin' Around The World and also keep you from having to drag a bulky purse or wallet with cash around. Except for rocking a cool fanny pack, you can go pretty much hands free and stress free on this fantastic deal!
Planning Your Trip
The last time I used an outside group to help me plan a visit to Walt Disney World Orlando was the last time I will ever use an outside group. Instead, I now simply call ahead to Disney directly at (407) 939-5277. Cast members are available from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM Eastern Time to help you plan your trip down to the last detail, and you can expect to spend a while on a enjoyably relaxed call with an expert who will not only listen to what you want to do, but also make wonderful suggestions for things you don't even know are available.
