A Polynesian Snow Angel is the cocktail you shake up after Christmas. A rum-based grog such as this is reserved for the most exhausted of hosts and hostesses, and is deservedly dispensed from a tropical partner in crime, the Tiki. This four-spirit blend (allspice dram, apricot brandy, dark Jamaican rum, and Demerara rum) graces the shaker with freshly squeezed grapefruit and lime juices for a unified and frothy treat. Simple syrup brightens it up, and fun fruit is added, either fresh or frozen, for some added zing. I almost always thread the straw with pineapple chunks.

So, cozy up in your best cheerful ugly sweater and tip your head to Christmas in Polynesia, just slightly off charter according to the map…and by way of your half empty bottle of rum…

For the ‘traditionally inclined,’ serve up this seasonally appropriate tincture that is slightly familiar yet exotic at the same time, the taste of allspice dram in quiet keeping with Yule. Face it, Sister. You cooked. You baked. You wrote dozens of cards. YOU WRAPPED AND YOU WRAPPED SOME MORE. You are all-deserving! So, cozy up in your best cheerful ugly sweater and tip your hat to Christmas in Polynesia, just slightly off charter according to the map…and by way of a half empty bottle of rum…
