Magic Cake With Autumn Apples

Custard Cake With Autumn Apples, also known as Magic Cake, requires one simple batter which uses only six ingredients!

Quite literally, the cake separates into three layers on its own.

Best part is this cake bakes up in just about one hour!

Genoise sponge, one simple batter, Sharlotka, cake batter separates as it bakes

Begin by assembling chopped apples in a buttered springform pan.

Egg yolks, sugar, and a good bit of vanilla are beaten until light and fluffy.

Your apples must be peeled, cored, and cut into 1/2-inch pieces.

Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form, then fold both the whites as well as some flour into the batter.

The batter is then poured over top of the apples in the prepared springform pan and baked for about 50 minutes.

Allow the cake to cool completely before loosening the sides and removing. Dust liberally with confectioners sugar.

I find this cake is easiest when cleanup is easiest., Have a baking sheet at the ready along with a piece of aluminum
