- ⅓ cup Dijon mustard (or whole grain mustard or a combination of both!)
- ¼ cup honey
- ¼ to ½ cup mayonnaise
- 1 to 2 teaspoons white vinegar
- 1 pinch cayenne pepper
Whisk all ingredients in a small mixing bowl or glass measuring cup.
Using the back of a spoon to gauge consistency, if you desire a thicker base for use as a baste or spread, add additional mayonnaise and mustard. If you desire a thinner base to use as a salad dressing or glaze, increase the white vinegar.
Taste as you go and adjust accordingly.
